Our story started in marching band, Jacob was in drumline and I was in color guard. We knew of each other in high school, but didn’t really become close until after he graduated. That summer, we spent a lot of time at Smith Mountain Lake together and our friendship naturally grew into something more. When my senior year started, Jacob was around for a lot of it and showed up to every event of mine. I learned a deeper side of him and he helped me to come out of my shell. After I graduated, we became inseparable. Many months after that (and a lot of patience on his part), we started dating and have been together ever since.
