For our history buffs the North Carolina State Capitol is a beautiful and historic landmark right in the heart of the city. Take a stroll around the grounds, pop inside for a quick look, and soak in a bit of local history.
North Hills Shopping
North Hills is a go to Raleigh spot for shopping, dinner, and an easy afternoon out. It’s been Izzy’s favorite hangout spot since middle school.
Village District Shopping (Cameron Village)
The Village District (also known as Cameron Village) is a Raleigh classic for shopping, coffee, and casual dinners. We used to go on walks from The Dillon to here while in law school!

Solidcore was Izzy’s go-to workout when living in Raleigh. Two of the bridesmaids are coaches, and it’s easily one of the hardest (and best) workouts out there. After taking a class swing by Bad Brain Coffee for the best iced latte and check out Fall Back Vintage for all your vintage home decor needs.
North Carolina Museum of Art Walking Trail
The North Carolina Museum of Art has some of the best walking trails around, with art scattered along the path. Take the Reedy Creek Trail route for the pedestrian bridge that crosses over I‑440.
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema
Alamo Drafthouse is hands down the best movie theater if you have time for a film. Amazing drinks, great food, and the kind of experience you can’t get anywhere else. We will even drive to Raleigh just to see a movie here (and, of course, visit Izzy’s family). You might even find us there the night before catching the new Spider-Man movie.
Torchy's Tacos
Torchy’s is our favorite taco spot, honestly, maybe our favorite restaurant in Raleigh. Go for the tacos (with a corn tortilla, obviously), stay for the queso (yellow queso = the king), and don’t skip the margarita.

If you know Izzy, you know how she feels about a sweetgreen salad. Enough said.
PRESS Coffee Crêpes Cocktails
Press was our downtown staple for coffee. The salted pistachio mocha is a must, and the stuffed French toast crêpe is so good.
Rise Southern Biscuits & Righteous Chicken
Rise is our favorite spot for chicken biscuits, truly unmatched. We refuse to believe better ones exist anywhere, and we’re still hoping Charleston gets one someday.
Benchwarmers Bagels
One of the best bagels you’ll find outside of NYC. Get there early because they sell out quick!
Vic's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria
This is the best pizza in Raleigh, and they even have gluten free options.
Taverna Agora
Taverna Agora is the spot for great Greek food and an amazing rooftop. Izzy and her friends loved hanging out here and yes, she even met J. Cole here in high school.
Postino Village District
Postino is super vibey, everything is centered around wine, cocktails, and bruschetta boards that can easily be a full meal.
Winston's Grille
Winston’s Grille is a long time Raleigh staple with everything from shrimp and grits to calamari, steaks, and homemade ice cream. It’s where Izzy and her family have celebrated so many special occasions over the years.
La Terrazza
For one of the best views in downtown Raleigh, check out La Terrazza. It sits on the rooftop of the apartment building where Trey lived all of law school. We spent a lot of time on this rooftop, so it’s a really special spot for us!
Wye Hill Kitchen & Brewing
Wye Hill Kitchen & Brewing is perfect for drinks and light bites, with an amazing skyline view.
Ponysaurus Brewing Co.
Ponysaurus is a go to for drinks don’t miss the frozen espresso martini. Add in curly fries and pizza, and you’re set.
Lynnwood Brewing Concern
Lynwood Brewing is perfect for a relaxed day drink, with great beer, tasty sandwiches, and plenty of outdoor seating to soak up the sun.
Raleigh Beer Garden
Raleigh Beer Garden has way more than just beer, think cocktails, small bites, mini golf, a cigar bar, and a great outdoor space to hang out.
Boxcar Bar + Arcade
Boxcar was a go to for us when we lived in Raleigh, we would walk over from our apartment all the time!
