The Wedding Website of Ivy Williams and Will Dixon
We are so excited for many of you to visit Shelter Island for the first time. As Ivy grew up here, it is so incredibly special for us to be able to share this place with you all. Below you can find detailed information on where to stay, how to get there, and any other questions you may have. If we didn't answer something - don't hesitate to reach out!

Flight

LaGuardia, JFK, Islip, or Newark

You will likely be able to find a direct flight to LaGuardia or JFK airport. Newark is an option, but not ideal. If you don't mind a layover and are planning on renting a car/taking the Hampton Jitney Bus, Islip Airport will get you closest to the island.

Rental Car

Rental Company (see below for discount) or your car!

We are working on getting discounts from one or more car rental companies - stay tuned! We highly recommend renting a car to get to the Island as this is going to be the most flexible option for your visit. We have provided bus and train options to get from the airport to Greenport (where you will get on the Shelter Island Ferry), but once you arrive on the island you will need to call local taxis to get around. Ubers and Lyfts do not work on the island. Know others going to the wedding? Consider carpooling!

Train

Hampton Jitney

If you are flying into Islip, you will need to take a short (~10 min) uber/lyft/taxi to get to the bus from the airport. When purchasing your Hampton Jitney bus ticket, select the Islip Airport Connection (AIE) - Eastbound stop as your pickup point. Select a drop-off of Greenport (GP), which will be right at the ferry. If you are flying into LaGuardia, you will need to take a ~20 minute uber/lyft/taxi to get to the bus from the airport. When purchasing your Hampton Jitney bus ticket, select the Queens Airport Connection Eastbound (APE) stop as your pickup point. Select a drop-off of Greenport (GP), which will be right at the ferry. If you are flying into JFK, you will need to take a ~40 minute uber/lyft/taxi to get to the bus from the airport. When purchasing your Hampton Jitney bus ticket, select the Queens Airport Connection Eastbound (APE) stop as your pickup point. Select a drop-off of Greenport (GP), which will be right at the ferry.

Train

Long Island Rail Road

If you are flying into LaGuardia, search the schedule from Woodside to Greenport. Woodside is a quick uber/lyft/taxi ride away from the airport, and there are train lines that will take you to Greenport (with a transfer at Ronkonkoma), dropping you off right at the ferry. If you are flying into JFK, search the schedule from Jamaica to Greenport. You will take the "AirTran" from JFK to the Jamaica Station. There, a train line will take you to Greenport (with a transfer at Ronkonkoma), dropping you off right at the ferry.

Travel Note

Shelter Island Taxi

If you need to get around while on the island, we recommend using Shelter Island Taxi. Cash, venmo, and all major credit cards are accepted.

Shuttle

Shuttle from Hotels to our wedding location

September 12, 2026 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm

As getting around the island can be cumbersome, we are planning to have a shuttle to and from the hotels and BnBs to get you to and from the wedding. These times are currently estimates. More details to come!

House Or Rental

Hotels and BnBs

Given the limited number of hotels and BnBs on Shelter Island, Ivy and Will are mapping out specific locations for each guest to stay. They will be reaching out to you individually with options!

Travel Note

Shelter Island Ferry

Please note that you will need to take either the North Ferry from Greenport (8 minute ride) or the South Ferry from North Haven (5 minute ride) to get onto Shelter Island. You may drive across or walk across. Bring cash for the ferry rides. No reservations required. See their websites for rates and schedules. There is a Chase on Shelter Island in the center of town if you need cash while on the island. North Ferry website: https://www.northferry.com South Ferry website: https://www.southferry.com
