Now that this story is funny, I can tell it- right? Ives was dating a boy who attended Charleston Catholic High School (CCHS) and found out that boy started dating one of her friends. She was upset and wanted to flirt with one of the boys friends(to make him jealous) She started looking through his friends on Instagram and came across Brandon Mckinney who also attended CCHS. Little did Ives know, Brandon attended a school that was over an hour away from the school she thought he attended. (Clay County High School) The two instantly clicked over their love for WVU sports. They became best friends and the rest is history.

Our first date was a basketball game at Poca High School because Clay County was playing Poca and Brandon helped coach Clay County's Freshman basketball team. Ives arrived at the game very nervous and skeptical because she had never met Brandon in person and she thought he was going to be an axe murder. She was also wondering why she was allowed to meet a strange boy- alone. (Lol thanks mom) She went inside and instantly saw Brandon- Brandon saw her and ran away because he was nervous. He eventually came back out to meet Ives and get to know her a little bit before the game started. All Ives could do all night was smile. They both instantly fell in love and now cannot wait to begin the rest of their lives together.
