One day after our church hosted a baptism service Janelle was introduced to Anthony briefly. Neither thought anything of it, however a few minutes later they bumped into each other again on the bus going home. They exchanged social media accounts and as Anthony got off the bus, Janelle's friends were trying to figure out whether he was Haitian or Jamaican. By conducting some investigating on his social media it was confirmed he was Jamaican and they had various friends in common. A few weeks later, Janelle was putting together the logistics for their church's New Year's Eve party and Anthony had reached out to Janelle to see if anything else was needed for the night. Following that night Anthony texted Janelle almost every day and eventually asked her out on a date before she was headed to Barbados for the week. Almost everyday in Barbados Janelle and Anthony spoke and the rest is history.

On a beautiful summer evening, Janelle and her ladies headed to Blend on the Water to celebrate a friend's recent graduation. While the ladies enjoyed dinner and a few drinks, Anthony was setting his plan in motion with the help of a few close friends and family nearby. After dining the ladies decided to take a walk outside and take pictures near the waterfront. As they walked, one of the ladies asked someone to take a picture of all of them with one of their phones, she obliged. Turns out this woman was a photographer Anthony had hired for the night. After taking the picture, she informed the ladies that she was working on a shoot promoting female empowerment and wanted to know if she could take a few pictures of them. The ladies were honored and proceeded to walk with the photographer to a nearby location for the shoot. As they got closer they began to hear the sounds of "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran playing in the night air. Suddenly, Janelle was greeted by her two best friends, who each presented her with a rose and beautiful words of encouragement. They were followed by seven other people very close to Janelle's heart who also presented her roses. She was then led into the middle of candle lit heart filled with roses, where Anthony professed his love for her and asked her to marry him. The night was full of joy, love and the rest has just begun... We can't wait to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you! See you in Barbados!
