We grew up together in church and have known each other our entire lives, but up until June 2016, we just saw each other as friends. It only took a trip to Puerto Rico and our friends meddling a bit in airplane seating to get us to realize how we felt about each other (well...he already knew...but she needed a bit more pushing...). After that, the rest is history.
It started out as a normal day at church, painting a piano (we were having a Chip and Jo moment) when he dissapeared to "change clothes." Her sister led her on a bit of a goose chase that led to candles, chalkboards with important dates, music, rose petals, and him on one knee.
Over two years ago, we were given the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Puerto Rico. We didn’t know why God wanted us to go, but we went. Over two years later we see now that God wanted us there so that we could start a relationship that would probably not have developed if we had never gone on the trip. Puerto Rico will always have a special place in our hearts because of the people there and the relationship that was started from it. So our hashtag #itspuertofreakintime delves from the start of our relationship and a phrase we used a lot when things got crazy while on the mission trip.
