Let’s Shellabrate!

After spending the summer apart, once Trent finished his language program in Germany, Rachel traveled across the seas to meet him. While trying to reunite in the airport, with Rachel’s challenged sense of direction, they finally were able to find each other. They quickly hopped on multiple trains across the European countryside all the way to Paris. There, they stayed in a hotel right across from the Louvre (the building that inspired Rachel to become an architect), and the next morning they walked into the main courtyard for their visit. While Rachel was walking around the main pyramid (her favorite part), Trent walked up behind her with a ring in tow. When she turned around, he dropped down on one knee, asking her to be his wife. This is a moment they will never forget! Especially since they were accompanied by a French friend who captured this special moment for them.

Rachel & Trent met while attending LSU at the start of the 2022 Fall semester. Their first date was at the UREC rock wall, where love physically fell into Trent's arms when Rachel lost her grip & fell into his arms. After the rock wall, they spent hours talking, and they realized they had a lot in common. In the beginning, they spent a lot of time on campus. They would visit each other after class, and Rachel would surprise Trent at the library while studying. After getting closer, they went on their second date to Top Golf. Towards the end of the night, Rachel offered to treat Trent to Creamistry (a local ice cream shop that uses liquid Nitrogen). This of course caught Trent’s interest. After getting ice cream, the couple sat on a nearby bench chatting & enjoying the scenery. It was in this exact moment that the couple mutually but silently knew they had found something rare. Then it was time for Trent to meet Poppie (Rachel’s dog). Little did she know, Poppie would become so fond of Trent the two would become an inseparable duo. As much as Rachel jokes she has lost her dog of 5 years to Trent, she is happy. Poppie has never been so affectionate with someone else other than Rachel, so it warms her heart to see how happy Poppie has become with both parents in her life. Rachel & Trent made their relationship official soon after on October 8, 2022.

Trent and Rachel were nearly inseparable and over the last two years have learned many things together. Each brought their own knowledge and experience to the table, and together they have managed to find harmony in their world. When they were getting to know each other, they realized how many things they had in common. Their love of space, history, & crafting was something they bonded over. Since then, Trent has taught Rachel many things like cooking, astronomy, & German. Rachel has also returned the favor by teaching Trent about fashion, music, & architecture. The two love to do creative things together. During at-home date nights, they love to draw & paint together. They are now getting married and cannot wait for the day to get here and are looking forward to the day they have a family of their own.
