We Eloped!

December 7, 2020

We couldn't let 2020 have all the fun, so we eloped in a private ceremony on Monday, December 7, 2020 (that's right a Monday)! Mainly for legal paperwork reasons, but still special nonetheless. Our May ceremony will include our personal vows and ring exchange. Here's to celebrating two wedding anniversaries!

The Engagement

April 13, 2019

Here's how it all went down...Tori went to a job interview early that Saturday morning, so Kenny and a couple of our friends (Thanks Troy and Laura) snuck off to Twin Oaks Winery to scope it out. I came home and Kenny appeared to have done nothing while I was gone (little did I know...) He convinced me to go to the winery with the friends that had been with him that morning to get a glass or two before Powhatan’s annual gala that night (sounded like a great idea). We were on the deck of the winery just chatting away when all of a sudden it became picture time?! Kenny wanted to have a picture of us dressed up with the view in the background. While Troy was taking this picture, Laura snuck to the “restroom” (but really went to get her super awesome camera and hide). Kenny then wanted to look at the view and take in the scenery. It was then he mentioned some sweet words that neither of us remember fully before he turned me around and got down on one knee! To top off such an amazing moment little did I know, my best friend Lindsey was waiting in the parking lot to celebrate with us. This entire moment made the wait (almost 5 1/2 years later) so worth it!

The Story of Us

est. December 11, 2013

Too cheap to pay for Match.com, we instead matched with each other on the free site, OkCupid. During the evening hours of August 3, 2013 Kenny sent Tori a message (obviously she responded). We exchanged messages back and forth for a couple of days before meeting at Panera Bread for a lunch date. Little did we know we spent four hours talking about everything! Soon after that first meeting, Tori would move to Virginia Tech for school but that did not stop Kenny. We would take turns visiting one another for the next three years. One weekend in December, Tori was visiting Kenny in Winchester and we FINALLY made it official! December 11 to be exact. Following graduation from Virginia Tech in May 2016, Tori moved back home and began teaching middle school agriscience in Frederick County, while Kenny continued teaching at Powhatan School. Finally, in July 2017, we decided to take a big step and move in together! We currently reside in the City of Winchester and have fallen in love with the area. Now you're probably wondering, is he ever going to propose?!
