1.5 hours to wedding venue by car. Smaller airport than Rome, unlikely direct flights from USA. Great option for those who plan to spend time in Florence. Easy ~15 minute train directly from the airport to Florence city center.

Rome Fiumicino Airport

2.5 hours to wedding venue by car. Most direct international flights from the US. From Rome to Montepulciano, there is 2 hr train to Umbria (~30 mins from Montepulciano).

Travel Note

Agriturismo

You'll notice there are many places to say listed as an "Agriturismo". This is kind of like a bed and breakfast, on a farm. Often broken into several apartments or buildings, often you can even rent out the entire house. This is a great option for groups traveling together. Most are run by individual families on historic properties. Many can help arrange transportation, activities, and have pools, tastings, wine tours of their own.
