We met in the early summer of 2022. At the time, we didn’t really know each other — but somehow, we were following each other on social media. That was especially unusual for Pam, who never followed people she didn’t know back. But somehow… Izzy had made it onto her feed. One day, Pam posted a video of herself singing Oceans by Hillsong United. Out of the blue, someone named “Izzy” replied: “Hey, this is really good… I also play the piano. We should make a cover together one day.” It was totally out of character, but something about the randomness of the moment felt right. Pam thought, why not jump in headfirst and try something new? We started talking — just casually at first — and eventually planned to meet up and record Sunday Candy by Chance the Rapper. Our first session went well. We were still figuring each other out, but the focus was purely music. By our second hangout, a small budding friendship was starting to form. By the third, something shifted. Pam (very hungry at the time) casually suggested we grab something to eat. We ended up at El Cortez, a cozy little taco spot in Edmonton. (Sadly, it’s now closed, but every time we drive by, we remember that afternoon.) While waiting for our table, we wandered downtown — the wait was long, and the day was warm. We walked for what felt like hours, talking about everything and nothing. It started to rain, and we kept walking, talking, sharing and opening up. That afternoon — in the rain, in conversation, in the simplest of moments — something beautiful began. By the time we finally sat down to eat, it felt like the beginning of a new chapter. From that point on, we were nearly inseparable. Not long after, Israel asked Pam to be his girlfriend — and the rest is history. Now, we’re here — getting ready to say “I do,” and we’re so excited to share this next chapter with you!
