Flight

Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF)

BUF is our small but mighty airport. It is about a 15-20 minute drive from downtown Buffalo. Being a smaller airport, it is easy to get through TSA and pick up baggage. There are only 26 gates, so navigating the airport is uncomplicated. There is easy access to rental cars, as well as quick responses from ride sharing apps for pick up and drop off.

Ride Share Options

Uber and Lyft are both readily available in the city of Buffalo, as well as the surrounding suburbs. Parking downtown or around the Elmwood neighborhood can be tricky and/or expensive. Both apps have a high volume of drivers that allows for quick response times, making it a great option for getting around the city.

Train

Buffalo Metro and Rail

Buffalo has a limited Metro rail that runs from UB South Campus to Canalside. It is most accessible in the above-ground Fare-Free zone from Fountain Plaza to Canalside, which spans a large portion of Downtown Buffalo. For the underground portion of the railway, it is $2 per ride, which can be purchased in the station or on your phone.
