Haley's story: We met in August of 2019. Jordan walked up to the volleyball courts the night before cross country camp wearing a white cut off t-shirt, a camo hat, and rolled-up blue jeans. My first thought was, "He is a country hick!" During camp, I heard him playing piano and thought that he was really good at it, but that was all to it. I had a bad race at the end of September. When I got back to our team camp, I sat in a random camo lawn chair that was his. To make getting the shoes he needed under his chair not awkward, he bent down, asked me if I was okay, and then untied my shoes and took them off. I thought he was so sweet, and his eyes were such a bright sparkly blue! On the bus, we kept making eye contact. A week later, he posted a picture on his instagram story of an ice cream cone he had made at the dining commons. I responded and told him that he should work at Dairy Queen. We continued to text on there for a few days before hanging out in person. We hung out every day that week, admitted that we liked each other over text message, went on a date a couple days later, and now here we are getting married! Jordan's story: We were introduced to each other through a mutual friend of ours but did not consider each other anything more than teammates. I was simply not interested in a relationship with anyone. At one of our cross country meets, Haley was crying in my invisible camo chair because she dropped out of the race for reasons I cannot remember. I had just gotten back from my warm-up for my race and offered to untie her shoe. From that moment I recall noticing her looking at me, and I noticed her more. A couple of days after the meet, she commented on a post about ice cream that I posted, and that is how we began to communicate. A couple of days after that, she was going through a difficult situation, and I came over to comfort her by just being there. We had both developed an interest, and I found it easy to open up. A week later we went on a date.
Due to a strict guest list number, we are unable to invite all of whom we love to be at our special day physically. Because of this, we are setting up a virtual option to watch us tie the knot so that the many more we love and care about can still be a part of our special day! The link to the virtual event will be posted either in this description below or in the "FAQs" section when the day draws near.
