Will and Ally met at Will's house, two days after Ally moved to Denver. As she was coming over to the house to meet up with his housemate (a college friend of hers) for a "welcome to Denver" dinner, Will walked into his kitchen. He was invited to join in, and the four of us ate ribs, shared stories, and laughed. It was the beginning of many bump-ins and shared social circles.
After an accidental "pre-date" took place at a concert in Denver, Will asked Ally on a real date, to which she said, "Umm... sure?". We spent the entire afternoon, evening, and night sharing stories and jokes, followed by meeting up at church the next morning. It wasn't too long before we decided to make it official, and we've enjoyed going through all of life together ever since.
Will had known he wanted to propose in Idaho long before he ever knew Ally, as his family had been coming up to Island Park, Idaho, for generations. The location was made even more significant as Ally grew up in Idaho and holds it very close to her heart. A few days into an Idaho cabin trip with friends (coincidentally, most of our wedding party), Will took Ally on a walk along the Henry's Fork River and asked her to marry him. She said yes (far more enthusiastic than "umm... sure?"), and we spent the rest of the week celebrating, laughing, talking, sharing, praying, and adventuring with our dear friends and family.
We hope to see you at our wedding on March 16th, 2024, in Eagle, Idaho (Ally's hometown and just five hours west of where Will proposed!), where we will start the next chapter in our story. We cannot wait to have you there to celebrate, pray, talk, feast, and dance with us as we become the Shalls!
