The locality of the wedding is known for steep rock formations and cliffs, and is famous for its rock climbing. The entire region is best explored with a car, as it is generally too rural for efficient public transport.
A historic park, nature preserve, and rock garden, Sanspareil can be reached by a long walk from the wedding venue, or quickly with a car. The outdoor stone theater is a must-see.
You can explore the exterior of this 12th century castle, and on Sundays guided tours of the interior are also available.

The most beautiful city in Germany (according to the groom), Nuremberg is an excellent travel hub due to its airport and train connections to elsewhere in Germany and Europe. It is known for its medieval history and well-fortified city walls and castle.
