Question

Where can we book accomodation?

Answer

We recommend staying in Wollombi (closest), Millfield, Sweetmans Creek, or Cessnock (and anywhere along Wollombi Road in between). These areas are all within a short drive to Red Leaf and covered by our bus services on 20th & 21st February. Wollombi (5–15 min to venue) Small country town with beautiful cottages and guesthouses. Millfield & Sweetmans Creek (10–25 min to venue) Peaceful rural areas with lovely vineyard and farm stays. Cessnock (25–35 min to venue) Larger town with hotels, supermarkets, cafes, and more amenities. See our 'Accomodation' page for links to places to stay. Any questions feel free to message us

Question

What transport is provided?

Answer

We are running buses on both Saturday 20th (wedding) and Sunday 21st (recovery) from Wollombi and Cessnock areas and with drop off points along the way. Exact times and pick-up points will be sent closer to the date.

Question

When should we book our flights and accom?

Answer

Book both as soon as possible Flights from Perth to Sydney February is a popular time, but there are still plenty of seats available now. Booking early usually gets you the cheapest fares with Qantas, Virgin Australia, or Jetstar. Accommodation in Wollombi, Millfield, Sweetmans Creek, or Cessnock This is peak summer wedding season in the Hunter Valley. Good options (especially Airbnbs and larger group homes) book out quickly. The sooner you secure your stay, the more choice you’ll have in the areas we’ve recommended.

Question

What dates do we book to fly?

Answer

For the wedding weekend experience we recommend: Flights from Perth to Sydney Arrive Thursday 18 February or the morning of Friday 19 February. Depart Monday 22 February (evening flights) or Tuesday 23 February. Accommodation in Wollombi / Millfield / Sweetmans Creek / Cessnock Check-in: Thursday 18 February or Friday 19 February (request early check-in where possible). Check-out: Monday 22 February or Tuesday 23 February. This timing gives you time to settle in, enjoy the welcome drinks on Friday 19th, the wedding on Saturday 20th, recovery on Sunday 21st, and a relaxed drive back to Sydney. Izzy and Jack: We will be flying into Sydney and making our way into the Hunter Valley on Tuesday 16 February and staying at Red Leaf over the wedding weekend. We check out Monday 22 February and head back to Bondi for a few extra days before flying home to Perth on Friday 26 February.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Unfortunately, not. We love your kids, but we want this to be an adults only celebration where parents can let their hair down and really enjoy themselves. However, we know some of our friends and family that do have younger children and are planning to make a holiday out of the wedding which we love! If you're bringing children and are needing a babysitter we have arranged a trusted service through Red Zebra. Babysitter Contact: Website: red-zebra.com.au Phone: 0419 411 636 Please book directly with them if needed

Answer

We do not expect gifts from our guests! However, if you did want to do something we will have a wishing well set up as you enter the wedding.

Question

Is there phone connection/service?

Answer

The town of Wollombi and surrounding rural areas have very poor mobile phone reception. You may have little to no signal in many spots. Most accommodations will have good WiFi however, we strongly recommend the following: - Screenshot your accommodation details and booking confirmation - Download offline maps / directions to Red Leaf and your accommodation - Save important contact numbers in your phone This is especially important when travelling to and from the wedding venues. Don’t rely on live Google Maps in the Wollombi area.
