Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?
Answer
The ceremony will be outdoors on one of the bastions of the wall. It is very windy since it's near the water. The reception is indoors and the venue is air conditioned.

Can I bring a plus one?
Answer
Guests allowed a plus one will see the option to add them when they RSVP. If you do not have this option, we apologize but our guest count final.

What airport should I fly into?
Answer
Delta offers direct flights to Cartagena (CTG) from Atlanta (ATL) and vice versa on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. CTG customs will take anywhere from 2-3 hours, so please make sure to prepare accordingly! You can also connect through Bogota (BOG), where customs is much more seamless.

How do I get from the airport to my lodging?
Answer
We recommend using Uber to get to your hotel or rental. The roads are hard to navigate, so we do not recommend renting a car. Leave the driving in the area to the locals!

Where should I stay?
Answer
We have a room block at the Hotel Sofitel Santa Clara located in San Diego, where the wedding will take place. Please reach out to paula.arango@sofitel.com to book using our special pricing. We recommend staying in hotels or vacation rentals in Centro, San Diego, Matuna, or Getsemaní so that you are within walking distance of all of the wedding events and can have the full Cartagena experience.

What will the weather be like in February?
Answer
February is one of the best times to visit Cartagena! The weather is typically warm and sunny, with daytime temperatures averaging around 85°F (29°C) and lower humidity compared to other times of the year. Rain is rare, and evenings are pleasantly balmy—perfect for celebrating outdoors. We recommend packing light, breathable clothing, along with sun protection like hats, sunglasses, and SPF.

Is the city walkable?
Answer
Yes! You will do a lot of walking on cobblestone streets, so we recommend packing comfortable shoes. Please take the time to explore this beautiful and cultural city!

Is the tap water safe to drink?
Answer
No (Izzy knows first hand). We highly recommend only drinking water from restaurants that you see served from a bottle and buying a pack of bottled waters to brush your teeth.

Where can I find great local food?
Answer
We love Restaurante Mar De Las Antillas for live music and great seafood. We highly recommend the fried fish! Some other restaurants we recommend are Candé, Cuzco, Buena Vida, Ana , El Burlador, Celele, Carmen, Alma, Mary Zielo, and Inkanto.
