Bailey Park is the scenic center of Winston's downtown social scene. Next to the greenway, you can find a collection of some of the most popular local restaurants and bars. Isabel’s recommendation: Split an authentic Neopolitan pizza at Cugino Forno and a cider at Incendiary next door, and enjoy both under the string lights of their shared patio Gavin’s recommendation: order smash burgers at Barcelona Burger Bar, then get the Reese’s peanut butter dessert to go and enjoy it with a bevvy at Fair Witness cocktail bar
Old Salem Museums & Gardens
Home to the first Moravian settlement in the area and the longest standing historically women's college in America, Isabel's alma mater, Salem College. Be sure to stop by Winkler Bakery on your way out for the best Moravian sugar cake.
Artivity on the Green
Check out the small sculpture greenway on Liberty street with a rotating collection of local artist murals. This marks the beginning of a row of galleries filled with local art.
Camino Bakery
For coffee lovers, this is a must! Camino has been a staple in Winston for years, bringing comfort with their seasonal drinks and house made pastries. Isabel’s recommendation: French toast latte and the tomato basil quiche Gavin’s recommendation: Cold brew with a prosciutto and Gouda sandwich
Camel City BBQ Factory
Stop in for some authentic NC bbq and classic southern sides, then check out the barcade or enjoy the city views from the upstairs patio. Isabel’s recommendation: Carolina pulled pork with mac & cheese and green beans, and a Cheerwine to drink (obvi) Gavin’s recommendation: Smoked turkey melt with a side of collard greens.
