Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Look for formal invites in May, including plus one and additional invited information if applicable. Please RSVP by July 15.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The Art Institute closes to the general public at 5 PM, and will reopen for our guests. Our ceremony will begin promptly at 6 PM. Please arrive no earlier than 5:15 PM, and no later than 5:45 PM!

Where should I park?

Answer

Pre-paid or drive-up parking is available via Millennium Garage (Grant Park South). Parking from 5:30 PM - 1:00 AM is ~$20. Alternatively, please leverage SpotHero or the ParkChicago app (thanks, Daley!) to find other paid alternatives in South Loop. If you're staying at either CAA or Palmer House, valet parking is available through the hotel. Please reach out to the hotel directly for their nightly rate.

Will all events be at the same location?

Answer

Yes! We will move through different spaces in the Art Institute for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, but the entire evening will be hosted on-site.

Will any portion of the event be outdoors?

Answer

We are hoping to host an outdoor cocktail hour, but an on-site rain plan is also in place!

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Formal attire. We invite you all to dress your best for a night at the Art Institute! Gentlemen: a suit with tie or bowtie is great! Bolo tie? Hot! Ladies: a floor-length gown is lovely! Please, nothing above the ankle. We humbly request that the color RED is reserved for the wedding party.

Can I bring a date?

While we wish we could include everyone, we can only accommodate those guests specifically listed on your RSVP details. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you!

Should I bring my kids?

Answer

...no (: Editor's Note: Unless your kids are listed on the invitation, we're keeping this an adults-only affair. Consider this your excuse for a proper night out!

Not immediately! Please make out any cards/notes/checks/bequeathments to Isabel Smith and Douglas Chan.

Definitely! Please leave a note on your menu selection through the RSVP link, and we'll be sure you're taken care of.

Who should I contact with specific questions or needs?
