When Dain and I first started dating in the summer of 2020, I remember thinking within three weeks that I wanted to marry him - which is kind of crazy considering our history! Dain and I first met in middle school - I remember sitting next to him in 6th grade math and being excited to get to know him better. He was so nice and had the prettiest blue eyes I had ever seen. Our moms were chaperones together on the state capitol trip, and I was secretly so thrilled that I was in the same small group as Dain. In junior high, we actually briefly dated for a few months! We held hands while sitting in the student section at a varsity basketball game, and even hugged afterwards. I also remember Dain gave me a beautiful, mint green, chevron scarf for Valentine's Day in 2013. We broke up because Dain was too scared to actually talk to me - I think I intimidated him a little bit. We were friends throughout high school, and junior year I persuaded Dain to be my prom date - as friends. He must not have had too bad of a time, because he agreed to take me again senior year! Graduation quickly came and then it was time for college - I went to Sioux Falls and Dain went to Fargo. When everyone was sent home due to COVID our freshman year of college, our group of high school friends got together. When we saw each other again, we realized that our friendship had potential to be more, so we gave it a try. And now, here we are four years later - getting married! Sometimes I think about our journey and honestly can't believe it's real, but I'm so glad that it is. We cannot wait to celebrate with you on June 29th!
