The Tulip Time Festival typically begins on the first Saturday in May — which happens to be our wedding day! Just 40 minutes from Hopkins, the celebration in Holland features stunning tulip displays, parades, Dutch dance performances, craft booths, and more. You can wander through neighborhoods and public gardens to see the tulips up close. For the past 96 years, millions of visitors (including us!) have enjoyed this vibrant ten-day festival. With more than six million tulips blooming throughout the city, it’s truly an unforgettable spring experience. .
If you’re looking for a peaceful escape after the wedding festivities, Saugatuck Dunes State Park is just 40 minutes away. Wander through forested trails, climb gentle dunes, and relax on one of the most beautiful and quiet Lake Michigan beaches. It’s a 10–20 minute walk from the parking area to the water, so bring comfy shoes — the sunset is absolutely worth it! P.S. It is one of our favorite spots and where our engagement photos were taken. .
