The Pedestrian Mall (the Ped Mall) is a staple of Iowa City. There are many bars, restaurants, shops, and places to walk around and see in this area. Some of our favorite sites are Pullman's Bar & Diner, the Java House, the Haunted Bookshop, Basta, Clinton Street Social Club, the Bread Garden Market, Mosley's Barbecue and Provisions, and the Ped Mall playground.
Big Grove Brewery is a family friendly (kids allowed) brewery we highly recommend visiting. They have good food, drinks, and an outdoor seating area.
In addition to shopping, the Coral Ridge Mall has a movie theater, indoor ice rink, carousel, and children's museum.
The Amana Colonies are a historic german settlement about 25 minutes from Iowa City. The villages have museums, boutique shops, locally crafted wine and beer, and restaurants. We love brining family here and highly recommend visiting!
We eat here more than we probably should. This is our favorite ice cream in town!
We will be getting married at this very orchard! Well, technically, we'll be getting married at Rapid Creek Cidery which is on this orchard. Feel free to stop by the orchard for apple picking and tractor rides!
