FAQs

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

To RSVP online, just head over to the “RSVP” page, and type in your name, and you should get a page that lets you know about the event you’re invited to, and asks whether you accept or decline the event.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our wedding is semi-formal, so think nice clothes- like you would wear to church. Our wedding colours are blues, so if you like, you can wear a blue outfit! If you can’t find blue, don’t stress - we just want you there, even if you’re wearing red. Since South Padre is right on the gulf, remember to bring something warm, in case the breeze is chilly! You never know with Texas weather.

Question

How do I get to South Padre Island?

Answer

Since this is a destination wedding, you can come any way you prefer! You can take a road trip down, or fly to the airport in Brownsville and drive or shuttle down to Port Isabel or straight to the island. For more information, visit our travel section!

Question

Can I feed the alligators?

Answer

Good question! We have scheduled a feeding of the gators, supervised by staff, for about an hour. Any more would be past their bedtime, so please only feed them what the caretakers provide! Aside from this, the Birding Center has asked us not to feed any wildlife. Gators, fish, and birds can’t eat human food; it will make them sick. Please respect our reptilian and fishy friends!

Question

Where do I stay?

Answer

Since it’s a beach town, there’s a variety of places you can choose to stay, depending on your preferences. There are hotels, motels, and many different AirBnB’s for you to pick from. For more information, visit our travel section!

Question

What’s for dinner?

Answer

We’ll be serving light refreshments: finger sandwiches, dips, fruits, and veggies! Since we prefer a plant-based diet, we’ll have mostly vegetarian (and some vegan) dishes to choose from. There will also be a bunch of our favourite homemade desserts, and, of course, wedding cake for all. Bon appétit!

Question

What drinks will you serve?

Answer

We decided to have a dry wedding, so no alcohol will be served. However, there’ll be plenty of yummy drinks! If you feel like keeping the party going after the wedding, there’s a bunch of restaurants, beach bars, and clubs within walking distance of our venue you should absolutely check out. Take a look at our “Things To Do” section for more information!
