Wedding Party

Sierra Warner

Maid of Honor

Patty has been my best friend for twelve years. We met in San Diego, just two sample ladies at Costco. What began slowly, in the small moments of shared workdays, suddenly deepened all at once when she left Costco. My favorite memory with Patty is from a summer when she came to visit me and we decided to drive to Southern Utah to explore Capitol Reef National Park. We planned the trip spontaneously and failed to fully appreciate that Capitol Reef is, in fact, a desert or that we were arriving during the hottest part of both the year and the day. When we got there and felt the heat, we opted for what we assumed would be a short, easy hike. We passed several women heading in with children, some in flip-flops, some holding babies, and took this as evidence that we wouldn’t need much water. It didn’t take long for us to lose the trail entirely. We cried laughing at the idea of rescuers having to come get us on what was supposed to be the easiest hike in the park. We spent over an hour laughing, wandering, and trying to reorient ourselves before eventually realizing the trail was right in front of us the whole time. Patty and I have been dreaming about our future weddings since the earliest days of our friendship. When Patty met Isaac, she knew almost immediately that he was the one we had been talking about and dreaming about all these years. Watching that certainty unfold has been an honor. I am most excited to see those long held dreams become a reality when they say I do.

Groomsman

Isaac and I met as camp counselors at Camp Nathanael. We worked together there for four years, and we’ve drawn closer since then through Bible studies, long walks, and road trips. My fav memory, Like for most of our adventures, this was a half-baked plan that we were left for a few hours later than we expected that we would. It was dark by the time we made it to the Saint Croix. After deconstructing Isaac’s bike and bungee-cording it to our two kayaks we set off under a heavy mist. The water was low so a journey that should have taken an hour or two, ended up lasting until sunrise. Along the way we weaved in mostly in silence as some of the brightest stars I’d ever seen shone overhead. At our destination, I dangerously clung for warmth around the fire grate as coals leaped onto my sleeping bag and Isaac biked back for more supplies. It was such an Isaac adventure, in that I had been pushed fully out of my comfort zone, into something memorable and sacred.Once he came back we caught and undercooked some crawfish. Soon after we had to leave abruptly in his van with aching bellies and the kind of memories that have always hit at the essence of our friendship. Isaac’s distinct traits include his integrity, how trusted he is by the women in his life, the earnestness with which he seeks the Lord, etc. I can't wait to see the family partnership that he is going to build with Patty’s thoughtfulness, kindness, and curiosity. I foresee a spiritual power-couple :)

We know each other through the greenhouse ministry My favorite memory is our numerous cave adventures especially exploring tunnel of terror when we used the bathtub to cross the flooded sections 😂 What I’m most excited to see is a little cheesy 😂 but I’m excited to see my boy get married and enter a new chapter of life. 🔥

Melissa Richardson

Bridesmaid

Hi I’m Melissa from Oregon and I have known Patty and Isaac since 2017 through Youth With A Mission (YWAM). I first got to know them through leading short term mission experiences for students together in Mission Adventures. Over the years Patty became a very close friend and roommate. I loved staying up late with Patty having deep talks, going on random late night adventures and praying together for whatever what going on in our lives! One of my favorite memories is going to Turkey with Patty and Isaac and getting to do some Holy Spirit ministry together in a new place! I’m really looking forward to celebrating one of my closest friends in her long time desire coming true of entering into marriage! Plus you can always count me in for a party 😆

Andrew Kangas

Groomsman

I am the oldest of the Kangas kids, and have watched Isaac become the person he is today through all phases of life. Growing up together we have an endless collection of shared experiences ranging from nice family fun to dangerous adrenaline fueled adventure. While its hard to pick a single moment to share, one memory of an unbelievable achievement of his always finds its way into a conversation when I try and describe my brother. The time he joined a grueling 630 mile bike race to Canada and back. A sport we had a shared interest in and one which I would help him train. Long rides, route planning, eating chicken pattys for fuel, bike repairs in the garage or middle of nowhere. To see him finish after 88 hours and the youngest competitor to ever finish was a proud moment and testament to his devotion to whatever he sets his mind to. I am looking forward to officially having Patty join the family and celebrating the milestone moment with them.

William Reid

Groomsman

I met Isaac in 2019 through mutual friends and then going to college together. Isaac and I bonded over a shared passion for evangelism and trying to live our lives on mission for Christ. Our friendship went to the next level when we got a joint bank account and started a discipleship house together in 2022. Some favorite memories with Isaac have been during our trips up to the Boundary Waters. Living in the wilderness, enjoying simplicity of life and adventure, and experiencing camaraderie. I am excited to watch the 1 Corinthians 7 man get married and I’m excited to get down on the dance floor!

Vivienne Tenneson

Flower Girl

Vivienne is a special friend to us. We love to read books together, and enjoy her endless giggles. She is incredibly smart, strong, and so caring of others! We are so blessed to have this little friend in our lives.

Nathan Doely

Groomsman

Isaac and I met at Camp Nathanael in 2015 for our rookie year of being a noncom. A lot of my favorite memories with Isaac have been at his house. From sauna bible studies to building a warped wall to trying to do tricks on a snow board. I’m excited to celebrate Isaac and witness him start this new chapter. It’s going to be so good to see him step into marriage surrounded by people who love him.

Ross Tenneson

Wedding Officiant

I’m Ross! I am one of Patty & Isaac’s pastors at All Peoples Church. My favorite memory of Isaac is when he led a group of men from our community to one of the roughest intersections in Minneapolis. We handed out freshly cooked steaks and told people about Jesus. This is something I never would have found myself doing without Isaac. My favorite memory of Patty is at her birthday party last year. She helped organize the party and prepared a delicious meal and served it in Isaac's parents' charming backyard. The table was finely set and the whole event had an exquisite feel that I've come to learn Patty likes to create for people. I’m most excited to see this lovely couple get married and to cut loose with them on the dance floor!
