Haines and Isaac met during their junior year at Clemson University. After their first conversation at a Clemson football viewing party in Fall of 2016, Isaac was intrigued - but Haines was smitten. Much to her dismay, Isaac was already in a relationship. So they continued throughout their Junior years running into each other on campus. Later that year, Isaac suddenly became single and Haines kept her eye on him. Isaac was drawn to Haines at every social event, as conversation felt so natural and she was so fun to be around. So he started to hang around her a little more. By the end of Junior year, Isaac was ready to make his move. So he texted her with the intention of seeing her later that night after her friend, Paige’s, 21st birthday party. Haines politely accepted and they met at the infamous Triple T’s to celebrate with Paige. By that point Haines had him wrapped around her pinky. Isaac tried to keep up with Haines all night as she ran around downtown Clemson with her friends. After several pep talks from his friends and a little liquid courage, Isaac was finally able to pull Haines aside and give her a kiss. And from then on the rest is history... except the next day she told him that she liked him a lot - but she was moving to Ireland for the Summer so this romance would have to wait. And Isaac did wait. He sat in patience. They facetimed every day and calculated when they’d be able to talk again with the time zone difference. And the patience and persistence paid off. When Haines arrived home from Ireland at the end of July that summer, Isaac greeted her at her home with red roses and asked her to be his girlfriend. She was so happy to accept that she immediately changed her Facebook status before she went to bed.

If you know Haines, you know she is a planner. Therefore, you can understand Isaac's exhaustion when it came to out-planning his future wife for his proposal. After bringing in friends from out of town and several decoy surprises, he was able to pull it off. On May 8, 2021 - nearly 4 years after that first kiss - Isaac surprised Haines at Soca in Raleigh, North Carolina while having dinner with her best friends. He handed her red roses and asked her to marry him. And of course, Haines gladly accepted.
