Family Friend of the Groom
We were honored and happy to join a boat ride from the Baltimore inner Harbor down the Chesapeake Bay for lunch with the two of you on your Grandfather’s boat was a special day. We took a boat ride for lunch turned out to be a full afternoon scenic ride on the waters of the bay to a delightful destination for buckets of crabs - and chicken for Mona and Isaac - along with lessons on how best to eat and enjoy them we were doubly delighted. Being on a ‘boat” together for the afternoon into the evening provided us with time and opportunity to communicate in a circumstance both special and private. The trip back up the Chesapeake Bay to Baltimore was enhanced by the glow of the sunset, finishing the day with gelato. It was special for us to spend such a delightful day with the two of you.

I’m sorry I couldn’t be there to witness this important event in your lives. It’s Simchas like this that give us all hope for a peaceful, just and prosperous future! Isaac, I don’t know you but if Kara is marrying you, you must be alright! Kara, I have known you for 24 years. I had the pleasure of coaching you back in 2000 when you were having difficulties with math. Those evenings sitting and talking about different ways to approach math problems led to deeper conversations about life. You impressed me then with your thoughtfulness, insight, hunger for knowledge and drive, which is why I always knew you would be successful in whatever path you chose in life. I wish you both health and happiness. Take good care of each other, listen to each other and know that you are loved.

Congratulations on your wedding! Good things come to those who wait and your celebration will be special no matter where or what the day! Isaac, we look forward to getting to know you in the years to come, and Kara, it’s been our pleasure to watch you grow into a brilliant and amazing young woman! We first met you as a newborn baby when your tired parents hosted a Maryland crab feast in your honor at their condo in Massachusetts. When Tyler came into our lives soon after, you became fast friends as the years rolled along and even wore matching Patagonia fleece jumpsuits on New Years Eve in Burlington. You had many playdates (Doggy and Owner), Block Island fun, skiing in Stowe and celebrating at your Bat Mitzvah. We were also lucky enough to dine on your homemade pasta when you returned from Italy! The best is yet to come for you two and we hope you enjoy every moment as you continue the journey together!

So many years ago February 2012, I came to visit Kara at her dorm room in college. It was an overwhelming and stressful day, some assignments were due and she needed to get into the city to meet the family for dinner. The day continued and we got to Aunt Barbies house and chose a restaurant for dinner and had a great meal, Kara went back to her room, and behold Isaac, hearing how stressful Kara day was had decorated her room with flowers and made her feel loved and not alone. At that moment I knew Isaac was good for Kara and will hopefully always try to make her happy.

Many years ago, the three of us met for dinner at the City Winery back when it was on Varick Street, we discussed politics, history and the food we were eating and I was struck by how perfectly matched you two are. I was so happy to witness that in person.

While I don’t know you both well as a couple, I do remember KK as a young, tenacious skier. On one visit up to Stowe you had just gotten a new balance board (very much ahead of your time) to work on your core conditioning, per your father’s coaching! You took a fall and barely winced, but said your arm hurt. Your mom insisted on getting it looked at and you came back to the house in a cast - it was broken. I recall you never complaining, only asking when you could ski again. With respect to the two of you, KK your dad told me how when you took the bar exam at the Javitz center, Isaac met you on breaks with food, etc.He had planned it all out, which shows how much he cares for you and thinks of you. I’m sure it’s mutual! Wishing you lots of health and happiness. Mazel Tov!

We've cherished every moment spent with Kara and Isaac, and recall the fun we've had visiting Sabino Canyon with this delightful couple. Part of the Coronado National Forest, Sabino Canyon is a great place to walk, hike, and take in its natural beauty. We also enjoyed seeing "Beauty and the Beast" at a local movie theater on opening day, toured the grounds of the University of Arizona Campus, and appreciated the time we spent just being together and catching up. We wish you a lifetime of joy and many celebrations. Can't wait for the wedding. Much Love Always, Grandma Nan and Steve
