Mess About in Boats on the Lake!
Our favourite activity is hanging out at Bass Lake. We've got four kayaks, two canoes, two mostly-not-sinking sailboats, and a few inner tubes. Bring your boats and floats to add to the party!

Eat all the cherry things at Cherry Republic (especially the free samples!), check out The Cottage Bookshop, wander around a cute village.
Good Harbor Bay Beach
Great Lake Michigan beach for swimming.
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore
Great hiking along the dunes and kids love the Official Climb!
Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive
Great views of Lake Michigan from the top of the dunes without the climb. Or, head to the top and do the big, 400 foot climb down and back up!
Traverse Area Recreation Trail
Great rail-to-trail bike path from Traverse City to Suttons Bay. You can rent bikes and e-bikes at either end. The trail is 18 miles one-way; a great round-trip journey, or there are shuttles that will take you back to your starting point if you're in for a shorter adventure.
Hop Lot Brewing Co. & Beer Garden
Best beer garden with a ton of space and a sand pit for kids.
Peterson Park
Best beach for Petoskey stone hunting!
Moomers Homemade Ice Cream
Best ice cream in the world and it's only 4 miles from our house.
Traverse City
Traverse City has tons of craft breweries, great restaurants, and shops, particularly on Front Street. Looking at the boats and walking along the bay is pretty and Clinch Park has a nice splash park for kids. Some places we like are: Horizon Bookshop, Cherry Republic (always stop for samples), Rare Bird Brewing, Right Brain Brewing, Little Fleet food truck park, and West End Tavern.
