FAQs

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Nanjing in late November is crisp and cool, with daytime temperatures averaging around 57°F (14°C) and dropping significantly at night. While our main wedding events will be held comfortably indoors with heating, we recommend bringing a warm shawl or coat for travel to and from the venue.

Question

What should I expect at a Chinese wedding?

Answer

Our wedding day will include a traditional Chinese ceremony. To help everyone follow along during the ceremony, we’ll provide a booklet or digital subtitles/translations as well. After the ceremony, we’ll have a reception dinner to celebrate with everyone, along with a few fun activities and moments throughout the evening. We’re so excited to celebrate with all of you, and we expect the festivities to wrap up around 9 PM. Come ready to eat well and enjoy the celebration with us!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Wedding attire in China tends to lean casual, so please feel free to wear whatever makes you most comfortable! However, we would also love to see you treat our wedding as your personal runway. From traditional Chinese wear and stunning Desi formalwear to a classic suit and tie or elegant dress, use this day to showcase your favorite style. Out of respect for family traditions, we kindly ask that all outfits be modest, and that guests avoid wearing solid bright red.

Question

Will I need a Visa?

Answer

All U.S. citizens will require a Visa. Please see our Visa Notes page for more information.

Question

Dietary restrictions?

Answer

To ensure our traveling guests can eat comfortably, all food served for our travelers will be 100% Halal. If you have any other dietary restrictions or allergies, please make sure to note them when you submit your RSVP so we can accommodate you.

Question

Can I bring a +1?

Answer

Due to strict venue capacity, we can only accommodate guests named on the invitation. However, we would hate for anyone to travel to China alone! If you are traveling with your significant other, please reach out to us directly and we will do our best to accommodate them if space opens up.
