Home of one of the best farmer's markets, Lake Merritt is a beautiful neighborhood in Oakland. Walk around the lake, visit the many shops and restaurants in the surrounding area, or watch a movie in the historic Grand Lake Theatre.
The best museum ever! It also doubles as our favorite view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
A San Francisco staple and some of the most delicious bread and pastries you'll ever taste. Make sure to visit Heath Ceramics next door.
This is where Austin proposed! Walk around Sutro Baths and the trails along the ocean.
We went here a lot when we first dated. Our favorite stores are the Warby Parker, Outdoor Voices, Salt and Straw ice cream, Miette Bakery and Lavish. It's also only about 1/2 mile walk to the Painted Ladies.
If you like pink, dessert, taking pictures and having fun, you will like this place.
All foodies should visit the Ferry Building! Lot's of good eats and kitchen shops. We recommend Highwire Coffee, Cowgirl Creamery, Dandelion Chocolate and Fort Point Brewing.
This is where we had dinner and drinks after getting engaged! The Tonga Room in the Historical Fairmont Hotel is a pool turned Tiki Oasis. Many stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood swam in the pool that now houses a floating band.
Temsecal Alley: - Curbside Creamery - Great Ice Cream Shop - Pizziaiolo - One of our favorite cafes in the East Bay. Their house-made bread sells out quickly so get their early! Their chai is really good too - Succulent Shop - Pricey but nice to window shop - Bakesale Betty's - One of Austin's favorite Fried Chicken Sandwiches
