Think elevated, romantic, and dressed up all weekend. The bride LOVES seeing everyone look their best, so consider this your excuse to serve looks the entire trip. If you’re debating between cute vs. extra? Choose extra — you’re in Puerto Rico.
The Welcome Party is your moment to show up cute, dressed up, and put together — think elevated spring cocktail vibes. Preferably no black or white. Colors and Patterns Encouraged. Tie/Coat Optional The event is right across the street from El Convento so little to no walking will need to be done. https://pin.it/5JuDXh3kL
Our wedding is Black Tie Optional, and we want everyone looking gorgeous. Please wear dark tones — black is always perfect if you’re unsure. Please no Navy, try to stick to color palette. This is your chance to dress up and feel amazing, so please avoid anything casual. You will walk on cobblestone, so choose shoes that you can walk in without breaking an ankle. https://pin.it/69jS1Adfn
On time. For both events. The ceremony will begin promptly, and the Welcome Party also runs on schedule. Miami people, we love you — but this is not Miami time. I AM SERIOUS!!! Please don’t make the bride start her marriage with an anxiety attack.
Everything is happening in and around El Convento. The ceremony is outdoors, and the reception is indoors, all on the same property.
Whatever your GPS says… add 20–40 minutes!!!!! Friday traffic into Old San Juan is always heavier than expected. Leave early so you can enjoy and not stress — especially with the ceremony being outdoors and time-sensitive.
We do not recommend it. Parking in Old San Juan on a Friday night is extremely limited, and we want everyone to enjoy themselves — the bride and groom will be handing out shots, and who knows what the bride’s mom will be doing. If you absolutely must drive, please allow a lot of extra time to look for parking and walk to the venue.
Yes — take your photos, take your videos, enjoy the moment. We’re NOT doing a “no phone” ceremony. BUT. If you can keep the phone a little low-key so the ceremony pictures don’t look like the Apple Store grand opening… we’d appreciate it.
