So we met at a small dive bar in Denver. Ben had arrived with some friends and I was traveling in my van and decided to stop for a drink. A girl invited me back to her boyfriend’s house for an after party and Ben just happened to be there. We all hung out till the wee hours of the morning. Ben’s roommate ended up leaving him there without a ride home and he needed to get home the next day. So I happily drove him back home to Boulder. We hung out for 2 weeks straight after that getting to know each other and having the time of our lives.

Our first road trip together was an 18 hour drive from Boulder to Idaho. Neither of us had spent that much time alone in a small space together. Everything went perfect though and we had a great 4th of July weekend. It was during that trip that Ben professed his love. We knew we wanted to continue the adventures together so we planned to move to Maui (where Ben grew up) to work and save money for a trip to Costa Rica. We stayed for a month then went to Medellin, Colombia for 2 more months. We both love to travel and definitely want to keep that going throughout our marriage!

We went to spend a day at Disneyland and unbeknownst to me Ben had planned for his Dad and stepmom to join us for the tree lighting and a secret proposal 🤫 We all walked to the castle and we stood in front to take pictures but then Ben told me to close my eyes and when I opened them he was on one knee. I of course said “YES!” and we hugged, kissed and cried. It was a magical Disney proposal ✨💍🏰
