You’re welcome to join us from Thursday through Monday to enjoy all of the celebrations, and of course, you’re more than welcome to come earlier or stay longer if you’d like. Please know that these additional events are completely optional—join us for whatever fits your schedule. Some hotel websites may appear in Spanish. Simply right-click anywhere on the page and select ‘Translate to English’ for an instant translation. Most hotel websites display prices in Mexican pesos. We’ve included approximate U.S. dollar conversions for your convenience, but please note that actual amounts may vary slightly depending on the exchange rate. Some hotels, like Real de Chapala, only accept Visa/MasterCard. You can also book them on Booking.com if you prefer using another credit card.

Airbnb / Booking.com

There are also many great Airbnb and Booking.com options throughout Ajijic. Because this is a very walkable town with limited on-demand taxis, most guests will find themselves exploring on foot—so be sure to bring comfortable shoes. If choosing an Airbnb or Booking.com stay, we recommend selecting a place within three to five blocks of Plaza Principal de Ajijic, the town’s main plaza and the heart of all the restaurants, cafés, and activity

Flight

Volaris

All guests will need to fly into Guadalajara International Airport (GDL). Most of our guests are coming from Texas, and there are frequent nonstop or easy one-stop options from San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, and Austin with airlines such as Volaris, United, American, and Aeroméxico. Volaris, in particular, operates many of the direct routes between Texas and Guadalajara, so it’s often a great place to start your search. Because friends and family are traveling from all over, there isn’t one “perfect” airline for everyone—routes and schedules can change—so we recommend searching your home airport to GDL on Google Flights, Skyscanner, or your preferred site to find the best option for your dates.

Airport Transfer Information

The official airport taxi service: After collecting your luggage at GDL, you’ll see a large official taxi counter in the arrivals area. Simply walk up to the counter, tell them you’re going to Ajijic, and provide the name of your hotel. You’ll receive a prepaid ticket and then be directed to the official taxi line outside. The taxis are regulated, safe, and operate with fixed pricing. The ride to Ajijic is typically 35–40 minutes and costs about USD $35–$50.
