Of course, flight costs can vary, but it is likely to cost between $700 and $1100 per ticket
The closest major city with an airport is Florence. It's about an hour from the venue.
The Venue recommends it, and so do we! The venue is about an hour's drive from Florence. While you can get to Gargonza by train and taxi, getting a taxi from the venue can be challenging. You will also be limited in exploring the neighboring towns around Gargonza. If you are flying in with friends or family, we recommend renting a van or getting a shuttle service together. Check out the Travel Page for more details!
Yes, you need an International Drivers Permit to rent a car and drive in Italy. The website we went through for ours is https://internationaldrivingauthority.com. It took less than 5 minutes, and we got it in the mail within a couple of weeks! You can also go through your local AAA.
Yup! Our favorite part about Castello Di Gargonza is that the entire villa will be reserved by our wedding guests for the whole weekend.
Your room will be automatically reserved when you RSVP, and we will send out a payment form once we have exact attendees.
While we rented the villa for the weekend, Castello Di Gargonza told us that our guests could book a longer stay. When you complete the payment form, you can request the dates you want to stay. We plan to stay from Tuesday, August 26th, through our wedding weekend. We would love to spend extra time with you before the wedding!
Driving from the Florence airport to Castello Di Gargonza is extremely easy. We also drove in Florence and Arezzo, and it was a bit more complex, so if you are anxious about driving, we recommend avoiding the big cities!
