Looking back, it's amazing to see how intentionally God was writing our story long before we realized it. We first met at a birthday party. Ignacio spotted me sitting in between my two friends and somehow managed to say hello only to me. Whether that was confidence, fate, or selective vision, we'll let you decide. Demi was the prettiest girl. I had never seen freckles as beautiful as hers or curls quite like hers. Not long after, we crossed paths again at a bible study. It was there that Ignacio invited me to our church's very first Young Adult service. What I didn't know at the time was how significant that invitation would become. That night, I gave my life to Christ, and what felt like a simple invitation became the invitation of a lifetime and a beautiful reminder that God was already at work in both of our lives. The summer that followed quickly became the best summer ever. I wanted to spend all my days with Demi. We spent countless evenings playing pickleball, talking for hours, attending church together, and finding every excuse to spend a little more time together. Most pickleball games turned into a friendly/not-so-friendly competition, but in reality, most of it was us just flirting. We knew the REAL game we were playing…  We soon found out we shared a common interest for Zach Bryan. When Ignacio found out, he asked me if I was going to his concert and I confidently said “no, he’s not coming to Miami, just Tampa.” Ignacio just as confidently told me I was wrong. After a good amount of back and forth, he quickly found a way to resolve our banter He made me a bet: “If I’m right and he is coming to Miami, you have to go with me.” Just a few moments after, I found myself buying tickets to the Zach Bryan concert, which became the best concert ever. The rest of the summer was filled with movie recommendations, phone calls that lasted far longer than planned, church on Sundays, Bible study on Tuesdays, intense pickleball matches, endless laughter, and countless memories that we still cherish today. On October 4th 2024, our story took another step forward when I asked Demi to be my girlfriend. Since then, we have watched God faithfully guide every chapter of our relationship. Through every season, every answered prayer, every challenge, and every joy, we have seen His goodness woven throughout our story. What began with a simple hello transformed into a love story rooted in Christ. We truly believe that the greatest Author has been writing our story from the very beginning, and we are so grateful that His plan led us to each other. Now, surrounded by the people we love most, we can't wait to begin our next chapter as husband and wife. Forever more to go!
