Dress up but leave the heals at home! The ceremony is on a mountain top that includes steps with big holes in them and loose gravel. Cowboy boots encouraged! The weather can change quickly on the top of the mountain so it is recommended that you bring a sweater or shawl. I would probably pack an umbrella just in case as well. Also, be mindful that temperatures will drop at night too!
The wedding is at 3 on Sunday. We ask that guests load the gondola between 2:00-2:30. However, we'll be arriving on Friday evening. This way we can enjoy the mountain all day Saturday and wedding prep all day Sunday. The rehearsal dinner will be Saturday evening as well. Monday morning there will be a farewell brunch that you're welcome to join before heading down the mountain.
The bride and groom are asking that everyone stay at one of the listed hotels the night of the wedding. There should be plenty of lodging and the 4 options available on the website offer many different choices, layouts, price points and all are walkable. We ask that you not book off-mountain lodging. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. We want everyone to stay safe and are looking forward to taking over the mountain!
There are 3 options on the mountain. Here's our favorite: Silver Ski Chalets - https://www.silverskischalet.com/ - 888.ON.THE.MT This is where the wedding party will be staying. This is the only location with a pool and we're told you can only enter the pool if you're staying there. The rooms are all individually owned and unique on the inside. They have differing sizes but host from 1-8 people and range from $200-445 a night. These rooms can be reserved beginning March 1. I'll definitely send out a reminder email that day. When booking, just mention that you're part of the Scheuler wedding and they'll give you 10% off your stay. They also will give you the third day half off if you stay for 3 nights. These rooms are set up ideally for families to take over. They all have full kitchens. Many have fireplaces. All are cozy and cute! If you're single or looking to bunk up and save some money, let us know and we'll work to pair you up with other folks looking to fill a room.
Crystal Mountain Hotels - https://www.crystalhotels.com/ - 888.SKI.6400 - Reservations@CrystalHotels.com This company owns 3 hotels on the mountain. All are in a great location. All are pretty rustic. These are rooms that mostly hold 2 people with some rooms also having bunk beds. Many of these rooms don't have wifi or tv. These rooms are the most affordable ranging from $95 for a room with 2 twins, $105 for a queen bed or $152 or a King bed for $171 or a queen pet room with all sorts of prices above that. There are only 3 pet friendly rooms and we're taking one of them! We've been told that the rates for these are better the sooner you book them. These hotel rooms can be reserved now. Please use the promo code: to get a 10% discount.
Crystal Chalets - https://www.crystalchalets.net/ - 360-663-2628 - Reservations@CrystalChalets.net This is the third and final option for staying on the mountain. It is all individually owned condos that have one bedroom with a queen and a bunk bed. They have full kitchens. They vary in quality but most have a view. These are right in the middle on pricing.
There is the option of bringing a camper and hooking it up at the mountain for $30 a night. The spots are in the B Lot parking lot at Crystal and are within walking distance of the event.
Definitely check out the Crystal Mountain Website https://www.crystalmountainresort.com/summer/summer-activities/ but I know we're looking forward to: Saturday morning yoga on the mountain Mountain Frisbee Golf Course (bring your discs if you have them as they don't have rentals up there) Many hiking trails A quick drive to Sunrise to get a great view of Mt. Rainier with no hiking required! The Crystal Mountain Winefest is Saturday night! Mountain biking on the ski slopes! Horseback riding on the trails. Outdoor firepits Swimming in the outdoor heated pool if you stay at the Silver Ski Chalets Drinks at the Snorting Elk or Bullwheel Several different dining options, one on top of the mountain if you want to purchase a gondola ticket!
One hour and 45 minutes Southeast of the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Crystal Mountain is the last stop before the Chinook Pass. It sits adjacent to Mount Rainier and is a killer ski resort during the winter. In July we'll be trading snow for wild flowers and hopefully warmer weather! The last real town you pass while heading into the woods is Enumclaw. There's a Safeway you'll pass right before you leave town that is great for cheap gas and last minute rations. Greenwater is the very last "town" and offers a mini-mart and the Naches restaurant/bar. If you're hungry on your way into the woods, we recommend you stop there. You will likely lose cell reception from Greenwater until you land at Crystal Mountain Resort so make sure you have your google maps and Waze routes up when you leave Enumclaw!
If you're heading to the wedding, please drive to the very end of the road and follow signs for Parking Lot A. Signs will indicate where you can park and you'll be able to see the Gondola from the lot. If you're looking for the parking lot for your hotel you'll need to read up on the hotel website. There's not much up at the resort though so it's pretty obvious! The Crystal Chalet is the first hotel on the left but requires driving up a steep driveway and climbing 80 steps. Crystal Hotels has 3 different hotels with the Alpine Inn to the right of the gondola and the other two on your first left. Silver Ski Chalets is the last hotel on the left and has its own lot.
