We first met through the online dating site okcupid. The site told us we were an 87% match. On Shea’s profile, she asked for a skier who is equal parts wicked smart, intensely kind and funny in the goofy way. Shea really emphasized the skier part. Dan made Shea laugh while she read his profile. As we began to message one another, two things became quickly apparent. 1. Skiing was incredibly important to Shea and 2. What Dan lacked in height (6’2), he made up for in wingspan (6’5). Our first date was getting a cup of tea in a cozy shop in the Queen Ann neighborhood of Seattle. Both of us knew there was special chemistry and in a culture of revolving-door-dating, we each knew we didn’t need to look anywhere else. Three months into our relationship we hit our first growth opportunity after a ski trip to Utah when Dan broke his leg. Shea stayed by Dan’s side the whole experience and was eager to help Dan with his recovery. Shea soon moved in with Dan in his Kirkland bachelor pad and was able to give the furniture he built a true nesting. Our developing family grew in May when Tucker entered our lives. Dan surprised Shea for her birthday in May with the best gift ever with a blonde goldador. Tucker helped us realize the importance of moving out of the city and we relocated to Bremerton. The following February we purchased our dream home together and began a remodel. We survived that and ended up with the most beautiful home one mile from Shea's sister Katie and her family. We're so excited to share one of our favorite places with you all in July. Shea has been skiing with her family at Crystal Mountain for the last 25 years. Dan is heading into his third season and is catching on super quickly! While Crystal wouldn't allow us to get married on skis we'll be happy to take advantage of the best view around as we say our "I do's"!
