Marquez and I went to the same school from elementary to my sophomore year of high school. I knew of him, but never got the chance to actually know him. We got to know each other when he sent me a friend request on Facebook. Since then, we started our relationship November 3, 2012 and the rest is history.

So, it’s my birthday and we made plans to go bowling with family and friends. I went to the nail salon while Marquez went to “run errands”. Now I know that the errand he had to run was for him to go ring shopping. We meet up back at home and get dressed to go out. While in the car he says “Let make a bet. If you win, we’ll get married in the near future and if I win, we’ll never get married.” My exact words was “Why would you say something like that but put your money where your mouth is.” Once we get to the bowling alley, there wasn’t any lanes open. So, we decided to play pool until a lane become available. Once a lane became open then we started to play and I start losing. Badly. Then to my surprise, I begin winning. Little to my knowledge he was throwing the game. So at the end of the game I said “Well look who won.” Marquez said “A bet is A bet.” He proceeds to get down on one knee and propose. That was the greatest birthday ever.
