Smaller than downtown Encinitas, but home to some of our favorite casual pick up spots! Well known hiking trails on top of the La Jolla cliffsides. Moderate level trail, mostly a casual walk. You can stay hike around the top or take the path that leads down to the beach
Nice and easy 3 mile loop around a lagoon that's right by our home, part of our week night routine :)
Rent an Ebike for 1-4 hours to take up as far up the highway 101 as you'd like! Carlsbad Village is a 30 minute bike ride north with lots of food and brewery options as well
La Jolla kayak is a fun couple hour adventure where you can explore the La Jolla caves if the conditions are right. Only guided tours will allow you to go in the caves, but you can also rent kayaks to take out on your own
Located in Mission Bay about 30-35 minutes from the venue and a great place to spend the day with sailboat, kayak, paddle board, and jetski rentals. We love renting sail boats with our friends, family, and pup down here!
If you're looking to golf, these are the links Ryan would recommend ranked in order: 1. Torrey Pines (Famous, can be hard to get tee times) - 25 minutes from venue 2. La Costa Resort (Beautiful course, PGA tour hosted here) - 25 minutes from venue 3. Encinitas Ranch (Every level can play here, has nice views of the ocean) - 20 minutes from venue 4. Carlsbad Crossing (More difficult than Encinitas Ranch, very nice course) - 20 minutes from venue 5. Twin Oaks (More inland, easier to get a tee time) - 30 minutes from venue
Beach in downtown Encinitas Natalie and her friends grew up going to! It has a snack shack, board rentals, volleyball courts and bonfire pits. Head south towards D Street for less crowded lounging!
Picturesque view point right by downtown Encinitas. The staircase down to the beach will take you to the famous Swami's surf break. Hansens Surfboards (Natalie’s favorite surf shop) right across the way should a longboards if you are looking for day rentals.
This is our favorite (dog friendly) beach for beach days with Nala. The inlet on the right side of the beach has great surfing for all levels. This is also where we will be hosting our Sunday beachside tacos :)
This small surf shop in Cardiff is only a few minutes from Cardiff State Beach. They rent chairs, umbrellas, as well as all the surf gear you might be interested in!
Our favorite staycation! Cliffside campground in Encinitas, right on the ocean with a public beach below. Difficult to reserve a spot, but worth checking at https://reservecalifornia.com and searching for San Elijo State Beach to get a spot for a night. Located just to the right of Cardiff State Beach with multiple surf breaks.
If you have an extended stay, the local Padres baseball team is playing on Labor Day at 3:45 PM
