Brendan and Jessica finally met in early 2017 after many near meetings over the years. You see, Jessica and Brendan went to colleges that were in the same conference, and Brendan would come to Haverford for lacrosse games. After college, Brendan and Jessica’s sister Katie worked at the same company, and Katie would oftentimes drag Jessica along on nights out with her coworkers. Surprisingly, Jessica and Brendan never met during college or the immediate year(s) that followed until an app brought them together. And even then it almost didn’t happen. Jessica canceled their first date an hour before, and mentioned to her friend that Brendan would probably be so annoyed that she’d, “never hear from him again.” But Brendan persisted, and their first date happened 3 days later.

The Andrews had planned a family vacation in July of 2018 that Jessica, and her parents tagged along for. On July 1st, everyone went on an evening kayaking tour to the southern most point of the island. And as Brendan and Jessica explored the empty beach, he got down on one knee and proposed with their families cheering (and taking pictures) off in the distance.
