We're getting married!

In early May 2017, Ian and Diana agreed to meet up for their first date after chatting online. Ian patiently waited for Diana on the corner of Chestnut Street. He watched her cross the street towards him getting more and more nervous as she got closer, he was immediately stunned by her smiling eyes. "Diana?" he asked pronouncing her name correctly (en español,) this really impressed her. They had a drink at the Tipsy Pig then decided to enjoy the unusually warm weather and take a stroll around the Marina. They were both nervous yet comfortable in each others company, they found it interesting that though they had just met, they felt like they could tell each other anything. "I'm an open book" said Ian. And so their conversation went, sharing silly stories and debating over who has the cutest nephews. Though his conversation on Architecture in the Marina did not exactly connect with Diana right away, she still found something charming with the awkwardly cute Ian. Enough to agree on a second date...

After their first date, Ian and Diana chatted every day, even while she was away in Spain for that summer. Calls turned into dates, that turned into city adventures and pretty soon they were taking weekend getaways. San Francisco became the backdrop where Ian shared his love for baseball to Diana while she shared with him amazing places to hike and explore in the city. Together they also enjoyed discovering the many culinary treats in the city. Ian fell in love pretty quickly, Diana warned him not to fall in love with her but the next thing she knew she realized she was falling for him too. They found out they enjoyed each others company, so much so that after year 1, Ian moved in with Diana.

Ian knew early on he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Diana but also knew that she was not keen on the idea of marriage. Without putting any pressure he waited for Diana to warm up to the idea, and after year 2 he started making plans to propose. COVID, unfortunately, messed with his original plans, as he went from plan A to plan G trying to find the right time to pop the question. Meanwhile, Diana was too busy trying to teach during a pandemic that she didn't even catch on to his plans. Ian planned a romantic getaway to Mendocino county to celebrate their anniversary. He knew Diana loved lighthouses and so they drove up to Point Arena to check out the lighthouse on Sept 26th 2020. It was cold and foggy, you could hardly see the lighthouse but Ian knew it was now or never, he told Diana to pose looking out at the lighthouse and as her back was turned he got down on one knee and pulled out the rings he had designed himself. When Diana turned around she was caught completely by surprise, she can't even remember what Ian said she just remembers him pointing to the photographer he secretly hired to capture the proposal, and to her surprise, she started to cry and said "yes, thousand times yes!!!"

First comes love...then comes marriage!
