It all started in the Spring of 2020. COVID 19 had shut down the world as we knew it. Isaac had just finished his undergrad degree in Biology from North Greenville University, and was moving back to Columbia to begin working on his Master's in Biomedical Engineering at USC. Brittanie had just received a promotion to Regional IT Supervisor at DHEC and working full force on the public health response efforts for the pandemic. During this crazy time of change, stress, and social isolation, they both turned to the internet in search of new friendships and connections. In May of 2020, Isaac found Brittanie's online profile and messaged her. This started a 2 month period of messaging almost daily about life, video games, sports, hobbies, and all kinds of things. Finally, in July of 2020, some of the restaurants stared to open up. Brittanie was craving one of the hardest things to make at home, sushi. So she invited Isaac to meet in person for the first time, and get some sushi. He accepted, and the rest is history. In September of 2020, they made the relationship official. They spent the next 2 years enjoying the end of the COVID lock down by having game nights with friends, going to NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, and USC football games, going to nerd conventions, and taking fun weekend trips. Isaac graduated with his Master's degree in December 2021, and in April 2022 he started talking to his family about wanting to propose. His grandparents, Jim and Jean Oakley, expressed their joy and approval of the idea and offered heirloom diamonds to use for the ring. Isaac took the family diamonds to the jeweler and had them made into a custom ring and used it to propose to Brittanie in Charlotte, NC (her favorite city) on November 19, 2022. They will be continuing their love story and getting married at their dream mountain venue on December 9, 2023. They can't wait for you to celebrate with them and forever be part of their story.
