Our Story

Brystal and Ian first connected in 2021 through mutual friends—via Instagram DMs. At the time, Brystal wasn’t ready for a relationship and suggested they just stay friends. And stay friends they did… for two years, keeping in touch but never really taking the leap. It wasn’t until December 2023, at a mutual friend’s wedding, that they met in person for the first time. Ian was cute… and shy. Very shy. Brystal, on the other hand, ended up blocking him on Snapchat because he was in a relationship—and she was distracted by just how adorable he was. Fate stepped in months later at a Zach Bryan concert in Greensboro, NC, when they realized they were both there. Ian DM’d Brystal again, and a week later she drove down from Lynchburg to Raleigh. One month later, they were officially dating—and the rest is history. From the beginning, Ian admired Brystal’s faith and relationship with the Lord, something he had been praying to grow in his own life. Brystal noticed Ian’s quiet, steady heart and the way he made her feel safe and loved. That trust and care became undeniable when, after a loss in Ian’s family, Brystal drove three hours just to be there for him—showing that their bond was something rare and lasting. Their first date was simple but memorable: Ian cooked dinner—though “dinner” was just a single pork chop—but it was perfect. Since then, they’ve shared countless adventures, from ringing in their first New Year together in Gatlinburg, TN (complete with chicken nuggets on the hotel balcony) to cozy nights in their first apartment, talking about hopes for the future. Even with all their adventures, the moments Brystal and Ian treasure most are the ordinary ones: grocery runs, Sunday mornings at church, and late-night ice cream trips. Their proposal, intimate and joyful, reflected exactly who they are as a couple—filled with tears, laughter, and unforgettable happiness. Through it all, Brystal and Ian have learned that love is in the little moments, the quiet gestures, and the shared laughter. And now, they get to spend the rest of their lives finding even more of them together.
