We're excited to have you in our city! Here are a few tips for getting to the city and the venue. Check the Things to Do page for some recommendations if you're spending the weekend here. If you're coming from out of town, there are numerous options for lodging in and around the city, so feel free to make your own arrangements. On this page we've listed a couple hotels that are near the venue.

Travel Note

Getting to DC

There are plenty of options for getting to DC: By plane: Flying to National Airport (DCA) is easiest and is closest to the city, and has a Metro connection. Dulles (IAD) and Baltimore/Washington (BWI) are both about a 45 minute cab ride into the city. By train: Amtrak, VRE, and MARC all stop at Union Station in the city with an easy connection to Metro or cabs. By car: Most hotels have options for parking, but parking at the venue is very limited (See note below). Traffic can get messy, so plan for extra time if you're driving in day-of. By Metro: If you're coming just for the day, there are Metro parking garages near the ends of most Metro lines. There are often schedule delays or station closures on weekends, so check the Metro website during the week before and plan accordingly.

Getting to the Venue

Josephine Butler Parks Center address: 2437 15th St NW, Washington, DC 20009 By cab/rideshare: Taking a cab or Uber/Lyft is likely the easiest way to get to the venue. By Metro: The venue is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the closest metro stops. Take the Green or Yellow Line to the Columbia Heights stop or the U St. stop. It's a downhill walk from Columbia Heights and an uphill walk from U St., so plan accordingly! By car: As noted below, venue parking is very limited and will need to be saved for people with limited mobility and venue staff. There is limited street parking available in the neighborhood around the venue, so you may be able to find a street spot. By foot: Weather permitting, there are several hotels within a 20 minute walk of the venue. By bus: If you want to bus, 2 sets of lines stop near the venue. The S1/S2/S4/S9 lines stop at 16th and Euclid St, while the 52/54 lines stop at 14th and Euclid St.

Travel Note

Parking at the Venue

We're excited to have a venue in our neighborhood, but that brings some of the problems of being in the middle of the city. This means that parking at the venue is extremely limited and will need to be kept available for people with limited mobility and venue and catering staff. There is limited street parking in the neighborhood around the venue, so most guests should plan to arrive via cab/rideshare, public transit, or on foot.
