We live on the beautiful hidden gem of Lake Monate, renowned for being one of the cleanest (and smallest) lakes in Italy. Our lake is very peaceful and serene, immersed in the natural beauty of northern Italy.
For a little more excitement, we are only a 10-minute drive from Lago Maggiore, which is the third largest lake in Italy. Lago Maggiore is famous for its magnificent views of the Italian and Swiss Alps, as well as touristy towns like Stresa and Laveno.
The stunning Borromeo Islands can be visited by ferry from Laveno to Intra.
Santa Caterina del Sasso is a historic hermitage with a chapel dating back to the 12th century and two churches from the 13th-14th century. It is well worth the trip to tour the site and spectacular views!
La Rocca di Angera is a medieval castle in the town of Angera that you can tour during the day. From Angera, you can also get a 10-minute ferry ride over to Arona for shopping, strolling and dining along the lake.
