Things To Do

Check out some of our favorite places, highlighted below. If you are looking for a more specific recommendation, please reach out.

Hazelwood Food & Drink

Twin Cities, MN

#Restaurant #Brunch We love to grab brunch (usually at the Bloomington location, but you can visit their St. Louis Park location as well), and they have great options for dinner as well. Some of our favorites are the Breakfast Mule and Brie Cheese Curds.

Hope Breakfast Bar

Twin Cities, MN

#Brunch Trust us, there's a good reason they have so many locations around the Twin Cities. This is one of the best brunch spots around, so make your reservation a day in advance if you can.

Hola Arepa

3501 Nicollet Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55408

#Restaurant One of Maureen's favorite restaurants, located in Uptown. It's very popular and fairly small, so if you're dining with a large group, either call ahead for availability or consider some of our other delicious options.

The Freehouse

701 North Washington Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55401

#Brunch #Restaurant #Drinks Located near downtown Minneapolis, we've never had a bad meal or cocktail from The Freehouse.

Fireside Foundry

6736 Penn Avenue South, Richfield, MN 55423

#Restaurant Upscale comfort food, Michael recommends the Pot Roast Melt. No reservations, first-come first-served.

Parlour

730 North Washington Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55401

#Restaurants You might check out the menu and think, "Why would I ever buy an $18 burger? It can't be that good..." It can and it is.

Tavern 4&5

16396 Wagner Way, Eden Prairie, MN 55344

#Restaurant This restaurant is home to one of Michael's favorite dishes (if not his all-time favorite), the Minute Chicken. The meatball appetizer is a must; consider ordering more than one.

Wakame Sushi

3070 Excelsior Boulevard, Minneapolis, MN 55416

#Restaurants Our favorite sushi restaurant in the cities. Pro tip: head there during happy hour (3pm-6pm or 9:30pm-close) and get the same great options for a better price.

Yard House

1665 Park Place Boulevard, St. Louis Park, MN 55416

#Restaurant #Drinks While they're known for their 32 oz "yard" of beer, the food is just as tasty. Our favorite item is the poke nachos.

Bde Maka Ska & Lake of the Isles

Minneapolis, MN

#Thingstodo If the weather is nice (or even if it isn't, this is MN after all), take a walk around Bde Maka Ska and/or Lake of the Isles in Uptown.

Centennial Lake

Edina, MN 55435

#Thingstodo If you don't to drive into Uptown, take a walk around Centennial Lake in Edina. Check out their "golf-in-miniature" course or rent a paddleboat.

Dave & Buster's Edina

500 Southdale Center, Edina, MN 55435

#Thingstodo We've gone on quite a few dates here over the years! Fun for all ages with old-school and modern arcade games.

Mall of America®

60 East Broadway, Bloomington, MN 55425

#Thingstodo The name says it all. MOA can be chaotic on a weekend, so you may also consider stopping by the Ridgedale Center or the Southdale Mall, depending on what you're looking for.

Minnehaha Falls

4801 South Minnehaha Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417

#Thingstodo Gorgeous waterfall and walking or biking trails near the river. Grab lunch at the Sea Salt restaurant right next to the waterfall, or head a few blocks over for ice cream at Grand Ole Creamery.

Puttshack - Edina

330 Southdale Center, Edina, MN 55435

#Thingstodo #Drinks Puttshack puts a fun twist on indoor mini-golf with three 9-hole "courses" located within the Southdale Mall. We'd recommend booking as a group, online, and in advance. The rounds are fairly quick, so consider booking two rounds right away to avoid playing the same hole twice.
