Ever since her 18th birthday when she discovered the place, Chelsea always talked about wanting to go to Cherry Springs, as it is one of the best places on the east coast for stargazing due to its exceptionally dark skies. Fast forward to July of 2024, and they finally made it! Chelsea had some suspicion that there was something about this little weekend trip, but she certainly did not expect how deeply special the following days would be to her and Mark. They got to their campsite, set up their tents, and decided to head to the stargazing area. It was truly a magical night, there was this feeling of peace and joy that filled their hearts. The whole time they were stargazing, Chelsea thought this could be the night he proposes, but felt crazy for even letting that thought in her brain! She knew he wasn't going to until after they had graduated, or so she thought. Still, though, she couldn't help but give into the excitement of thinking "What if"... Well, they packed up that night to drive back to camp, and she thought that if he were going to propose, he would've already. She felt silly for allowing herself to get worked up into the daydreaming of it. Next thing you know, Mark pulls over at this beautiful overlook, with the moon and stars shining bright out over the mountains. Chelsea runs to the edge of the overlook, taking in the view, when Mark says, "Hey Chel," and she turns around, and sees him on his knee with this beautiful ring, reflecting the moonlight, "Will you marry me?" & of course, I said yes.
