We met at a mutual friend's apartment in Downtown Dallas before going out to a bar in Uptown (RIP Renfield's Corner). We talked the whole night and remained friends until 2018, when we decided the distance between Austin and Dallas couldn't keep us apart and began dating.

James proposed to Hunter during a beautiful visit to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. Afterward, he and their closest friends surprised her with an engagement party to celebrate. The day couldn't have been more perfect. (Except for Hunter breaking a nail on a *certain* finger that morning... luckily it was fixed before the proposal!)
