They met over coffee at a shared office space for change-makers in Toronto in late 2011. It was the time of the Occupy Movement and Ryan was starting a new community project to challenge the linear economy called the Toronto Tool Library. Emily was a budding environmental filmmaker and activist, fresh off campaigns on the high seas to save whales with Sea Shepherd. The sparks flied! Now almost 10 years later they've been inseparable - traveling across 5 continents, experiencing the highs and lows of their do-good pursuits, plus growing a family with their son Phoenix. Through it all, their love got stronger, even through a global health pandemic. Now they're taking the next step - marriage - which is a radical act of love for two people who never though they were getting married!
