Maid of Honor
Elizabeth (Lizzie) was the first person from King University that Nicola met. Prior to starting her first year at King, Elizabeth traveled from her home country of England to visit Nicola and play in the Scottish Under-23 golf tournament. Through a series of unfortunate events, this resulted in Lizzie missing her first round tee time. Why she stuck around after that, Nicola has no idea! Nicola and Lizzie were roommates for Nicola's second year at Uni (University) and have endured the pain of being both Biology Majors and student-athletes together! Lizzie is now currently pursuing her PhD in something super brainy at the University of Indiana.
Best Man
If one looks up the word 'dapper' in the dictionary, there is a picture of this gorgeous human being front and center. Easily spotted more than a mile and a half away, these fiery locks attract people like moths to a light bulb. Perhaps this is what sparked the friendship between Hunter and Kaleb nearly nine years ago in the 8th grade. Attending Tri-Cities Christian School in Blountville, TN together produced many memories which have permanently written each one on the other's life - whether Kaleb likes it or not. From playing instruments together in the Senior-Talent show, "getting swoll" as workout partners in the weight room, and long conversations about life, these two have a friendship that will last a lifetime.
Bridesmaid
Nicola and Lydia met when they were 6 and have been best friends ever since. It's no stretch of the truth that Nicola basically lived at Lydia's house for most of their childhood. This was partly due to Lydia having so many cool exotic pets like leopard geckos & mud skippers, but mainly due to the fact that Lydia is the best friend that anyone could ask for. Nicola can always count on Lydia, except when it comes to baking... once they made cookies and put salt instead of sugar - it's safe to say that Lydia will not be in charge of the wedding cake! They say that a true friend never drifts apart, but rather, picks back up right where they left off, not matter how long it has been. This is the type of friendship Nicola and Lydia have - one that extends beyond borders and never grows dim.
Best Man
Tommy and Hunter are possibly the most unlikely of friends. They met one another as co-workers who slaved away serving the highly delectable Chick-fil-A sandwich to the general public. Building their camaraderie over boiling fryers, they cooked up a friendship that took them around the world. After only a few months of getting to know one another, they packed their bags and boarded a plane for a mission trip to the country of Nicaragua. Nothing says 'friendship' like riding on donkey-back across the miserably hot, tropical Nicaraguan landscape to stay in a remote village for several days and nights. When they aren't off adventuring in another country or going on over-night backpacking trips along the AT, they are either watching movies together or riding around listening to music.
Bridesmaid
Nicola and Ashley met as sophomores at King University. The pain and torture of being Biology majors, as well as Chemistry and Math minors, together has bonded their friendship like an ionic bond (the strongest chemical bond). Many tears of pain and joy were shed between these two over the four years at King University. They were each others agony aunt, whenever one of them had an issue the other would listen and attempt to fix it. Nicola doesn't think she would have survived University without her! They bonded so well at University that separating was not an option, so Nicola followed Ashley's lead in the job industry and now they both work as Lab Technicians at Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport.
Best Man
Hailing from Amarillo, TX, Tristen and Hunter met on King University’s campus during Hunter's senior year in college. They were brought together by co-leading in the student-led organization Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). After struggling alongside one another in ministry and leading worship every other week, Tristen and Hunter quickly became good friends who could count on one another for absolutely anything. Though Tristen is still busy finishing up his degree at King, he said he wouldn't miss this day for the world and jumped all over the opportunity to plan his bachelor party... or as they would say in Scotland, his "Stag do"!
Officiant
Bernie Blankenship has been a vocational Minister for most of his life serving in multiple churches all across Eastern America. Bernie has played an important role in both of the lives of the wedding couple. Hunter grew up with Bernie’s son, Evan, and therefore spent umpteen hours at the Blankenship household. They are honored to have Bernie play such an important role in their very special day.
