At this time, we are proceeding as normal, with various added precautions. As of July 14, Alabama's state guidelines allow large gatherings that are able to provide six feet of distance between guests of different households. We're working with vendors to create a safe and celebratory environment for all guests and will continue to provide updates to our guests if major changes must be made.
While our ceremony and reception will both be held indoors, we will provide masks and ample space for social distancing. In the chapel, every other row will be blocked off to encourage space is kept between different households. In the reception hall, which is large and can comfortably hold over 500 people under current social distancing guidelines, we will implement a seating chart to ensure that only guests from similar circles will be in proximity. (Please note our guest count is WELL below half this number.) The dinner meal will be plated rather than buffet-style, drinks will be carefully poured by a licensed bartender following health guidelines, and the appetizer buffet will be served using single-use tongs for each guest. All venue/catering staff will be masked for the duration of the event. If you would like to suggest any further precautions for our event, please email smithweddingprep@gmail.com.
Due to state ordinances, we are asking that our guests wear a mask. We will provide these upon arrival at the ceremony, but please feel free to bring your own. Venue/catering employees will be wearing masks and will be temperature checked before beginning work.
We anticipate a guest count of 135 people at this time. While we will miss those loved ones who are unable to celebrate with us in person, we completely understand the reasoning for all who are unable to attend due to health precautions. Please do what seems right for you and your family, and let us know your plans by clicking "RSVP" on this website.
Please submit your RSVP on or before July 15, 2020.
To avoid postage costs, we've opted for an online-only setup. Select the "RSVP" tab at the top of this site and follow the prompts in order to let us know whether you'll attend. Please reach out to us at smithweddingprep@gmail.com if you experience difficulty with this setup.
Yes! Simply revisit the RSVP tab on this site and select "Edit RSVP" at the bottom of the summary.
If you'll be joining us from out of town, we've included a list of suggested lodging options under the "Travel" page of this website. There is one block of rooms at the La Quinta hotel in Cullman.
We've registered online at Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, and Amazon and have enabled items from each to be viewable under the "Registry" page of this website.
If your invitation says "and Guest," then yes! If not, then we would prefer if it was just you.
If your invitation includes your children's name, the word "children" or the word "family," then yes! If not, then we would prefer if it was just you.
Cocktail Attire: Wear cocktail or sun dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, or jackets and slacks. If your outfit is something you would wear to church, you're probably a-okay.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. You should arrive several minutes prior in order to park and find a seat.
Our venue provides ample parking on the property, which is located near the ceremony and reception buildings.
Yes! According to venue owners, the ceremony and reception sites are both handicap accessible.
Both the ceremony and reception will be held at Stone Bridge Farms, but in two different buildings on the property. You will be directed to the reception location immediately following the ceremony.
We strongly request that you leave your phone or camera in your pocket or purse during the ceremony. Our professional photographer will be capturing every moment, and we'll share the photos with you at a later date. Once the ceremony is over and the reception begins, we've no objections to you snapping some pictures!
In case you have a severe allergy, we've provided an opportunity within our RSVP setup for you to make us aware of any dietary restrictions.
As neither of us are big users of social media, we've opted to avoid creating a wedding hashtag. If you'd like us to see the photos you post, please send them in a direct message. We'd love to take a look!
August in Alabama is always hot, but we recommend double-checking the radar for additional information before deciding what to wear, and maybe bringing a light cardigan for that chilly A/C.
We plan to have both our ceremony and reception indoors. However, if you're part of the family or wedding party who will be participating in professional photos (we'll give you a heads-up), those will be taken outside.
Smoking is not permitted within the buildings on property, including the chapel, reception hall, or cabins. However, if needed, one may smoke safely in the parking lot located just outside.
