We're getting married!

We met through a mutual friend in High School. It started off with Hunter hitching rides to school with me for a few months until he got his license. I never thought anything of him asking for a ride at the time. Then fast forward a few weeks to Valentine's Day. He made me walk to his car with him after school and gave me flowers and a box of chocolates and asked me to go to out to dinner. Within a few dates later we were officially dating. The rest is history!

We went on a trip to Wrightsville Beach in Wilmington, NC. This was one of our favorite places to visit as its a place we go at least once a year together. We enjoyed the day at the beach and headed back to get ready to go to dinner. As we were leaving to head out for dinner, Hunter asked if we could stop at the lake on the way to the restaurant and walk the pathway around the lake. As we park the car, we start heading toward the path that walks the circle around the lake. In the distance I see an adorable set up of a stand with flowers and champagne with a sign that said "Will you Marry Me?" and another sign saying "It's always been you." I began to look at him and said "Awww look how cute, someone is proposing! Look how adorable that set up is!" He began to guide me toward it and we walk the sand path to the set up. The entire time we walk that way i'm saying "Hunter, stop! This isn't for us!", never once thinking it was for me. After seeing my sister, her boyfriend, and Hunter's brother jump out of the bushes to take photos and videos of the entire thing, I realized it was for me. Immediately, my jaw hit the floor and I don't think I closed it until it was all over. He guided me to the arch with flowers and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. After over 6 years of dating, it was the easiest yes of my life! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you! See you at Lake Norman!
